Welcome to Ancient India!
Welcome to Ancient India, a place just like India, but ancient! Ancient India was
the home to a long-lasting civilisation and covered a range of countries of
today including Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal. The Ancient Indian
civilisation marked the beginning of the urban civilisation in the Indian
subcontinent. The Indian civilisation was most famous for its cities that were built of brick, their road-side drainage systems and multiple story
houses.
The saffron (orange) colour on the top of the Indian flag represents courage and sacrifice, the green at the bottom represents prosperity, and the white in between represents purity, truth and peace. The Ashok Chakra (symbol in the middle of the flag) represents the laws of Dharma (righteousness).
The Indian subcontinent is located in southerly Asia and includes all of India as well as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Maldives. The Indian subcontinent is made up of 3 geographical regions; the Himalayan north, the Indo-Gangetic plain, and the Deccan Plateau. Most of India creates a peninsula which means that it is surrounded by water. India's southeast borders the Bay of Bengal and the southwest is bordered by the Arabian Sea.
